Eugene Marathon with the boys. 🏃♂️
Signed up January 1st… The squad started to sign up and we hit consistent training over the past few months for this moment.
One of my favorite things in the entire world is planning sick experiences and doing them with the people who mean the most. AND seeing my friends go places they have never been before.
2nd marathon, 3rd race… 2019 was Portland Marathon… August 2023 was the Bend 100 Miler…
Eugene did not disappoint 3:10:53 Bang Bang.
What’s possible..? The goal was 3:18 maybe 3:16 but 3:10? oh man, I’m hyped. Incredible weekend with the squad and the race was insanity. Drew Boyd helped me get to a place I had never been before, into the unknown. We came out at a 7:48 pace in the crowd at the start line, then started ripping 7:12’s, until the last 4 miles we put the burners on. Even dropped a 6:30 on the last mile!
The best part though wasn’t my time… it was getting the whole gang together. The meals, runs, pre-race, talking smack/the jokes, and seeing the guys go places they didn’t know was possible! The entire experience of seeing your friends do incredible shit was an insane, massive dopamine hit. Shout out to Kris, Shabb, Cherry, Rory, Drew, Sky, Tom, Dirk, Connor, Aoibhe, Wes, Ava, Caroline, Chris, Brennan, Grace, Daniel Lopez, Cam Richman, and my parents! FULL SQUAD!

Maui for Mom’s Retirement Gift (The Maui Taper) 🌴
This month I celebrated my mom’s retirement from teaching over 30 years. Getting in that high-quality time with the fam is priceless. My parent’s first time in Maui was elite. How can we continue to do new things as we get older? That is a question I think about a lot. Proud of my parents for doing something new and out of their comfort zone!
Walked the beach, had coffee, Lilikoi croissant, great food, and watched the sunset up on the crater.
My main goal for April was… Be as present as possible and celebrate my parents. Be patient and bring the enthusiasm to every moment for my parents. No future, no past, just right now. (Side Note: super patient when the hood of our rental car flew up on the highway lol)

Write of Passage ✏️
Past few weeks I have been attending Zoom calls for Write of Passage which is a course with David Perell. It has been a great experience challenging me to think differently with writing and improving my ability to work through editors’ feedback.
The best two parts so far have been the questions to get you to think deeply and the writing frameworks. You don’t have to use them all on every piece of writing but they help organize your thoughts into a more clear idea.
Favorite framework for writing. Head, Heart, Wallet:
What does your head want you to write about?
What does your heart want you to write about?
What does your wallet want you to write about?
My favorite album of April is by Mike. called The Lows… His progression and growth have been awesome to follow. Going from Mike Stud to who he has become now has been sick! Make sure you check it out.
6 am, Strawberry, Skylight, & Backwoods are the favorites right now…
Holy Shit Moments… How can I do more things that I am going to remember for the rest of my life? Fill up the life resume with those things. Those experiences make you say “Holy shit I am going to remember this forever.”
Maui with the fam and Eugene with the squad will be two experiences etched into my brain. I tweeted this after I was reflecting on the Eugene experience that sums up how I feel right now.

Love you all. Keep stacking those daily deposits and making every day the best day of the year until tomorrow.
