Ferate's 5: February 2024

Run, Write, Pod, & Daily Deposits.

Let’s go! What’s up! This is Ferate!

Thank you for checking out another Ferate 5 newsletter and if you joined recently welcome! This one is inspired by my great friend Noah Cracknell. He published a February Update and I wanted to do the same.

February of 2024 was a big one, specifically with running and growing the Daily Deposit Newsletter.

Let’s get it!

KPIs from February

  • Miles Ran - 125.76 miles

  • Cosube Breakfast Burritos Eaten - 4

  • Total Steps - 520,161 (295.7 mi)

  • Resting Heart Rate - 50 bpm (need to improve the sleep)

  • Articles Published - 25

  • Podcasts Dropped - 5

  • Travel - Seattle, Spokane, & Los Angeles

What am I loving right now..? I love these new Brooks Hyperion Maxes. Sick running shoes that I have only busted out a few times. These will make more of an appearance as I get closer to April 28th for the Eugene Marathon.

Here is a snippet of one of my favorite articles I wrote in February…

What’s Honey I’m Home Energy?

A core principle in my own life… I didn’t know how to describe it until I listened to Shaan and Tony Robbins discuss this. Enthusiasm is a competitive advantage not only in sports but in how you experience life altogether. The skill of being able to change your state, be intentionally consistent, aware of how your energy impacts others, and most importantly not letting external circumstances impact how you treat the people that mean the most to you.

What if the energy you bring made every day feel like Valentine’s Day? Why only bring that level of intention to the halfway point of a day in February and that one moment after Super Bowl Sunday?

Next time you see your partner, friend, family member, or student-athlete you coach BE STOKED, drop your version of “Honey I’m Home!”, and bring energy to the first 60 seconds of your interaction.

That’s called magic. That’s called a Daily Deposit.

Updates from The Podcast

I went all in on the podcast in December and January dropping over 15 episodes in two months. February was a lot more focused on writing because I started my new project the Daily Deposit Newsletter.

Still dropped 4 episodes with guests featuring Noah Cracknell, Phil Kornachuk, Harvey Martin, and Connor Webb (The Couch GM). Also dropped one newsletter pod.

Updates from The Daily Deposit

Newest project I started. I explain more here, but here is the short and sweet summary of what I am putting out into the world.

A Daily Deposit is a consistent intentional commitment to investing in yourself. Starting a Daily Deposit will change your life.

Quick Hitters

Headed to Las Vegas this week with Women’s Basketball for the WCC Conference Tournament and I am officially 7 weeks and a few days out from running the Eugene Marathon!

Thanks for checking out the February update and the projects! I appreciate you all reaching out about newsletters and podcasts. Keep Going.

Keep stacking those Daily Deposits and making every day the best day of the year until tomorrow…
