June was a huge momentum month for growth. I discovered this quote “People Want To Root For Someone On A Mission.” Recording a podcast with Isaac Homer and this quote set my heart on fire.

June was a month when team and coaching demands slowed down a bit. Baseball finished up and both soccer/women’s basketball aren’t back to campus yet. With that time I focused on building more of these creative projects, golfing with the boys, and training. ***Should have doubled down a bit more on sleep but on the plus side, my iron game is getting pretty spicy on the links and I spent a ton of time with friends this month!

Even started June 1st with a bang and had a whole squad go to the Timbers game with Henry Cheney in town (shout out to Chris Clements for always reading these newsletters). In typical fashion, no squad photos were taken.

First Thursday was a movie. Had a little squad of over 15 friends show up!

RUN CLUBS 🏃

Running has become a huge cornerstone of my life. In June Ben Shabb and I attended the Runways Run Club event at the Soho House in Portland, Oregon. For World Running Day Beau Brundage and I hit up an event at the new On store down on 23rd Street.

Throughout the month we dabble with our run club. Running with the freaking SQUAD! We hit up Forest Park, a few runs in Bend, Oregon, and even got the gang back together for a 6:30 am run one morning.

Running is a mental shower. It just clears the mind and puts you in an incredible mental space.

PODCASTING🎙️

Big time momentum going into June as I mentioned before.

I recorded episodes with Eric Rash, Logan Walters round 2, Recap of May, Quad Pod with Isaac, Joey, and Tommy (Legends!), Ryan Ward, and Brandon Dang! Being present, recording these conversations, & getting them published were big time W’s.

I even sat down with Dirk Van der Velde of The Momentasize Podcast in Bend, Oregon. I coached Dirk my first year at UP. We have become great friends and he even paced me during my 100-miler last August. Make sure you check out what he is building with his content & construction company.

PRESS RECORD 30 CHALLENGE 📹️

Getting out of the comfort zone. Check out all my videos here!

Zach Pogrob, the obsession guy, created a challenge where you publish 30 videos in 30 days that are longer than 90 seconds. It is a challenge to improve at speaking clearly and putting yourself out there on social media.

After a phone call with Ryan Ward, I accepted the challenge. The experience has been great. As I publish more and more videos I have connected with the one take, no cuts or edits.

Area of growth? → Feedback on what resonates, understanding why some get views, and speaking more concisely & clearly. Work in progress as always but fun challenge that I am finishing up with soon!

Extras 🔥

  1. Went to see Jordan Davis in Bend, Oregon on Summer Solstice.

  2. Laurelhurst Park in Portland, Oregon is so sweet (first time going there this month).

  3. I love the new format of videos Noah Cracknell is doing.

  4. Keep enjoying the process of “figuring it out” instead of trying to have it all figured out.

  5. Document & share your journey instead of trying to create content.

  6. Tell your friends you love them.

That’s all for this month! Talk soon! Let me know what you enjoyed, anything epic you did in June or email me back to say what’s up!

July is the halfway mark (and my birthday month) which is insane. Let’s stay on a mission, keep stacking those daily deposits, and making every day the best of the year until tomorrow.
