Ferate's 5: It’s Not Normal To Know What We Want (034)

It’s like adding logs to a fire. The more you invest in it, the hotter it burns.

It’s Not Normal To Know What We Want.

Let’s go!!! Welcome back to another week of Ferate’s 5 newsletters! This is another featured article from my new project the Daily Deposit. It is where I share ways you can make daily investments in yourself to change your entire life. Check it out here.

Do you have clarity on what it is that you want?

The two massive drivers for me in writing the Daily Deposit Newsletter, Ferate’s 5 Newsletter, and starting my podcast. Clarity on my true wants was the thing I was lacking and I decided to lean into writing, podcasting, and connecting with others to discover more. Kyle Eschenroeder and a podcast he did with Chris Williamson pushed me over the edge. What Do You Want To Want?

That podcast & article changed my life because he made me physically stop, shed all the go-go-go go, snap into the present moment, get away from the autopilot that pops up sometimes, and ask myself “Ferate, man I got tough one for you, what is it that you truly want to want with this life?”

Clarity in what I want and who I am becoming has been my pursuit ever since Sahil Bloom inspired me to start writing in July 2020. The path is always unfolding if I continue to fully embrace my curiosity and intently share it with the world.

Twitter (X) has leverage, plain and simple. It is a portal to connecting with like-minded driven curious people. I spoke with Tyler Cho recently and he has inspired this most recent Daily Deposit by sharing a quote I can’t stop thinking about. This quote is the incredible 1-2 punch, Pippen to MJ, Harry to Loyld in Dumb and Dumber, it’s the dynamic duo until I discover more and more within this space.

It isn't normal to know what we want. It is a rare and difficult psychological achievement. One can choose to go back toward safety or forward toward growth. Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.

Maslow

I mean come on!!! You know the feeling that I felt when reading this because you just felt the same thing in your soul, in your heart.

“It is a rare and difficult psychological achievement… Growth must be chosen again and again; fear must be overcome again and again.”

Choose growth, overcome fear, and keep stacking those Daily Deposits toward the person you want to become. It’s like adding logs to a fire. The more you invest in it, the hotter it burns.

The path will continue to unfold if you do those three things. The clear path of what you want to want and who you want to be. It is a rare and difficult psychological achievement but the discovery is worth it.

If you loved this one make sure you check out a few of my other favorites linked below and SUBSCRIBE to this newsletter and the Daily Deposit Newsletter.

Wishing you all love and consistency. Keep stacking those daily deposits and making every day the best day of the year until tomorrow.
