3 Weeks Deep Into 2024.

What’s up! Pumped you are checking this one out! I haven’t been the most consistent with my newsletter but we’re back after a few days off. I got a hot streak at the end of December ripping two newsletters a week and then my energy got directed towards my podcast! MAN PODCASTS HAVE JUST BEEN GETTING ME JUICED. They have been so good lately!!!

I am back to writing more consistently and wanted to share with you what I have been putting all of my energy into.

  1. Podcasting

  2. New Podcast Project

  3. Daily Deposits

  4. Tweets

  5. Journaling

Podcasting.

January 2024 was a huge month for the podcast. I have been dropping episodes like Joel Embiid against the Spurs. I broke a personal record for most podcasts in 4 weeks. The episodes I published are listed below.

  1. Be Bold, Be A Bison

  2. Mike Rich (Public podcast at Fremont Brewing in Seattle, Washington)

    1. Check out his newsletter here The Ghost Business

  3. End of the Year Reflection (Inspired by Sahil Bloom)

  4. Zak Taylor - Embracing Mental Performance

  5. Icelandic Christmas Tradition

  6. Joe Podeuslenko - 75 Hard & Hosting The Post Game Podcast

  7. Tommy Musto - From Maui to LAFC (MUST LIST RIGHT HERE)

  8. Taylor Davis - Baseball Player Development & Push Performance

  9. Chad Stevens - Consistently Becoming Better in Professional Baseball (Pilot Alum & sick Jose Altuve story)

  10. Ali Abdaal Could Change Your Life drops this weekend.

Tommy Musto - Episode 52

In sharing this with you and typing all the published episodes out it makes me laugh! Why? The reason is that lately I have been riding the high of how well it is going and at the same time I have only felt more need to connect with people. I would describe it as oh man this is charging me up so much, man I love this, and yes this is so rewarding but with a side of pressure that I am creating for myself.

What is that pressure? I don’t know… the feeling that I am like “Man you got to start doing more”. Ironic because it is the most I have ever done in 4 weeks and is 50% of what my goal was for the first year of the podcast. The goal was more than 21 podcasts in the first year. With that perspective it is hilarious. I even recorded about a 45-minute podcast with my dad over the holidays it was fun to hear how he worked through questions, shared stories I’ve never heard, and did something that I have always wanted to do. Can you relate? I believe there is something here, maybe it is the need to be present and have presence in each moment.

Special moment combining my love for the art of podcasting with the people I care about the most.

The new podcast project has been fun as well. Brad Scott gave me the idea and several creators that I look up to have done similar projects where they record an audio version of what they write. Brad had mentioned it could be like how Goggins added extra content to his audio book, Can’t Hurt Me.

It is fascinating how our human brains work because instantly are drawn to those episodes when first checking out the pod. I love the long form podcasts but I know time is our greatest currency and if episodes are shorter more people will put their headphones in and hit play to listen!

Mike Rich back on the podcast! (Fremont Brewing December 2023)

Daily Deposit.

It isn’t all or nothing, it is always something.

Daily Deposit is something that I have written about a lot in this newsletter. You can find a few articles about the topic here. Today I will keep it short. It is my word for 2024. I have decided at Cathedral Coffee on Wednesday, January 24th at 4 pm and typing it out to you right now.

Many people have resonated with the idea and the reminder that you don’t have to save the world you just need to invest in yourself consistently. Been tweeting about it a lot lately here are some of my best ones below.

It isn’t about just getting through it.

It is about being intentional, consistent, and commiting to your daily deposit.

More on Daily Deposits coming soon… very soon…

Journaling (First Quarter Habit).

The evening routine has been HUGE when I do it. duhhhh bro

Each night I will journal what is on my mind, where I am at, and where I want to be, and prepare for the next day. In doing all of this I have tried to keep my ideal week top of mind. Instead of getting caught up with what people want me to do, I have kept my ideal week and what is essential as my north star.

I have fallen off with consistency on this at times. There were nights I journaled on my iPhone notes instead of my journal and there have been nights I have missed. I think I will start marking down on my Big A## Calendar the days I do it and the days I don’t. Just like how Jerry Seinfeld would put an X on a calendar for every day that he wrote a joke.

Once you get a streak going you don’t want to break the chain.

Thank you for tapping in and spending some time with me on this elite Friday morning! I promise I will continue to stack those Daily Deposits for the rest of this week. Are you up for it? Let me know!

Closing Ideas.

  1. Hey Ferate! Yeah? Were 3.5 weeks deep brother… take action and get out of your own head. Thinking doesn’t solve an overthinking problem. I know I know big dog.

  2. Noah’s maxim has me deep in thought: “Opportunities multiply as they are seized.”

  3. Musto Family inspired me to dive into the Alchemist and “Muscle Beach Book Club” started with some of my student-athletes.

Wishing you all love and consistency. Keep stacking those daily deposits and making everyday the best day of the year until tomorrow.
